Compulsory examination will be held in all schools on 27th. Unit test of 9th to 12th will be conducted from board papers instead of schools.

Ahmedabad, Tuesday Gujarat Education Board has issued a circular to conduct the first unit test in two sessions on 27th in all the schools from 9th to 12th and again it has been decided to take the one and a half unit test from the board papers instead of the school papers. Earlier the board had issued a circular to the schools to prepare the papers in their own way. But recently, there has been a discussion that the administration has also changed as the officers-structure of the board has changed.

The board itself had previously assigned the exam to the schools, the administration has changed due to the change of the board’s officer. Examination will be conducted in two sessions of one hour each on 27th. Question papers of only two subjects of each standard will be sent from the board.

Question papers will be sent to DEO by noon on 25th. Each DEO shall appoint an officer of Class-II level as the nodal officer for the unit test. The DEO has to send the question papers confidentially to the SVS-QDC Convener by 26th and the Convener to the principals of all private, granted and government M.A.-M.A. schools of his complex by email.

According to the new circular of the board, under the resolution of February 2020, the unit test question papers of subjects including Gujarati, Maths, Science and Society in 9-10 and Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology in 11-12 Science, English, Account, Psychology in 11-12 S.P. It has been clearly stated that the exam will be prepared from the board level. When in February 2022, the board itself had issued a circular to all the DEOs following the paper leak incident that from now on every month the unit test of all subjects from 9th to 12th will have to be held at the school level.

The papers of which have to be prepared at school level or QDC or SVS level. While GCERT has announced the program for the unit test of classes 3 to 8. In which the primary teachers’ board has demanded a change in the time.

Your attention is drawn to Atre’s letter dated 19/07/2022 regarding the above subject, that various efforts are being made by the State Government to maintain continuity in the education of the students. Accordingly, it has been decided to implement the question bank based evaluation method instead of unit test for the students of class 9 to 12. In which the school has to select the questions from the question bank and carry out the evaluation in its own way. Henceforth, question bank based assessment will be mentioned instead of unit test. It is requested to consider the matter. For the implementation of question bank based evaluation, the following instructions are issued by canceling the instructions given vide letter dated 19/07/2022 as per which it is stated to be implemented.

Instructions:

The schools will have to conduct the question bank based assessment of class-09 to 12 on 27 July 2022 in two sessions of 1 hour each.

For question bank based assessment only 2 (two) subjects of each class from 9th to 12th will be prepared and sent by the board. The details of which are available in the schedule.

Question Bank

June and July units will be syllabus for question bank based assessment. The details of which are mentioned in the syllabus.

The question bank will be organized only on the basis of the textbook published by the Gujarat State School Textbook Board.

Schools will be able to download the question bank by logging on to the board’s website www.gseb.org from 09:30 AM on 27/07/2022 using the school index number and password.

Schools shall conduct written assessment of all students as per the attached schedule.

Based on the question bank obtained on-line, the school has to select the questions and evaluate the students. For which one has to follow the instructions given in the subject wise question bank.

The school shall ensure that the evaluation process of the students is done properly and the details of the marks obtained by the students after the evaluation and the necessary documents shall be preserved at the school level throughout the year.

All government and aided secondary and higher secondary schools in the state will compulsorily assess students based on the question bank prepared by the board. While self-supporting secondary and higher secondary schools of the state will be able to use the question bank on a voluntary basis.
